Is Hair Colour Important?
In general, the darker the hair, the more effective the treatment. However, blonde hair often responds well to treatment even when an early prognosis was less optimistic.
What Does The Treatment Involve?
When you come for PlasmaliteŽ treatment a trained medical professional will discuss how PlasmaliteŽ works and assess if it is suitable for you. A test patch will be carried out to observe its effect on you. A thin layer of the cooling gel may be spread over the area to be treated. The Wave Guide is then drawn over the area and you may notice a series of short light flashes as it passes over. You may not see an immediate difference, but within 2-3 weeks of your second treatment, most of the hair will have disappeared.
Are There Any Side Effects?
Some parts of the body are more sensative than others and may redden or swell slightly, however this should settle down after a few hours. In extreme cases slight blistering may occur, this normally heals within a few days. A temporary increase or decrease in skin colour may also occur, but again this is extremely rare and always soon disappears.
Which Areas Can Be Treated?
PlasmaliteŽ can be used to treat any area of the body and any skin type. It is, however important for a test patch top be performed before proceeding to a full treatment.
Is There Any Thing Else I Should Be Aware Of?
Some people are more sensitive to light than others.
Test patching is necessary to check your suitability for treatment. Please note though that the test patch result is not necessarily an indication of a full treatment result.
Do NOT wax between treatments, although shaving is fine.
Avoid exposure to the sun and sun beds for 4 weeks before and after the treatment.
