What Is Plasmalite?
Plasmalite® is the third generation of Light Based Skin Treatment Systems. Incorporating all the benefits of both Laser and Intense Pulsed Light in a single system and using unique fluorescence technology, Plasmalite® offers non-invasive, safe and effective treatment of a number of skin conditions and disorders. The treatment improves lesions such as vascular and pigmented disorders, fine lines, enlarged pores, and laxity of the skin.
Plasmalite® has successfully been used for treatment of the following conditions:
- Removal/bleaching of vascular lesions (telangiectasia, hemangioma, spider veins, etc.).
- Removal/bleaching of hyper-pigmentations.
- Improvement of skin texture and fine lines through collagen stimulation and collagen shrinkage (non-invasive instant face lift).
- Improvement of of dyschromia resulting in an evenly coloured skin.
- Shrinkage of pore size.
- Improvement of acne, acne scarring, scars and keloids.
- Treatment of dark circles around the eyes.
- Tattoo removal/bleaching.
How Plasmalite® Works?
A non-coherent broad band pulsed light source, Plasmalite, is the latest and most effective choice for improvement of the overall skin appearance.
The basic principle of photo-rejuvenation and hair removal is selective photo-thermolysis, i.e. selective heating of the unwanted skin lesions to various temperatures depending on the type of the lesion - without any damage to the surrounding skin. Plasmalite uses pulses of light (similar in many ways to the flashes from a camera) which is filtered to selectively target the melanin, haemoglobin and collagen for treatment by photo-thermolysis
Clinical studies have shown that selective heating of the dermal collagen layer to a temperature of about 60ºC stimulates the fibroblasts to produce new collagen. The increase in collagen production takes place during a period of 8-10 weeks and lasts for 6–12 months after the last treatment. A large number of clinical trials have proven that the method efficiently flattens wrinkles by increasing the thickness of the collagen layer.
